Here is a list of the spots I’ve chattered about in Wikitravel. All of them (except Istanbul-east) were tried and proved to be succesfull either by myself or my friends.
* Istanbul: [http://wikitravel.org/en/Istanbul#Possible_hitching_spots]* Antalya: [http://wikitravel.org/en/Antalya#Get_out]* Konya: [http://wikitravel.org/en/Konya#Get_out]* Tekirdag: [http://wikitravel.org/en/Tekirdağ#Get_out], there is also a small section at [http://wikitravel.org/en/Tekirdağ#Get_in “get in”] about approaching the city by thumb.* Kesan crossroad, best hitching spot in whole Eastern Thrace (European Turkey): [http://wikitravel.org/en/Eastern_Thrace#by_thumb]
I have of course hitched in elsewhere, too, but most of them were only small towns and I felt it is kinda silly to note down that ‘there is a good hitching spot at the edge of town – totally visible from town centre which is 5 minutes walk away’. But as this wiki is more specific about hitchhiking, maybe I should write them here?
And I’ve also written a couple articles about general hitching info.
* Turkey: [http://wikitravel.org/en/Turkey#By_thumb]* Mersin Province (eastern part of Turkish Mediterranean Region, not to be confused with the city of Mersin which serves as the capital of the province): [http://wikitravel.org/en/Mersin_Province#by_thumb]
