Semey is a city in Eastern part of Kazakhstan. Semey is famous for the Soviet nuclear polygon (formerly known as Semipalatinsk) located not far from city.
Hitching Out
South towards Taldy-Kurgan, Almaty
There is a huge roundabout connecting two bridges on the left riverside. Walk along the 6 lanes road in southern direction. From bus-stop take bus #41 to "Myasokombinat". Then cross the road and wait for a bus #13 to "kolonka" bus-stop. Bus will turn left and you should follow 4 lane road. Right after bus-stop is a place where locals trying to get a lift. Walk a bit among road and start hitching.
Hitching In
Bus station and two train station on both riversides generate enough route buses in any direction.
Places to Visit
Explore new bridge across the river. Looks like spaceship in a jungle.
