Moyale is a city in Ethiopia, and, on the other side of the river, in Kenya. Reports from travelers mention that it is not a nice place to stay for longer than necessary for crossing the border. As mentioned, Moyale is divided between Kenya and Ethiopia, and, on the Ethiopian side even between the Somali region and the Oromia region. Smugglers can often be seen traveling with many donkeys through the back streets.

On the Ethiopian side, there are plenty of "hotels", but if you are recognizable as a foreigner you will be charged much more than the local price. You may ask the people that gave you a ride until here to negotiate a price for you first. Lower end would be around 30 Birr/night.
