South Sudan is a very young country in Northern Africa that split off Sudan on July 8th, 2011. It is bordered by Sudan to the north, the Central African Republic to the west, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south west, Uganda to the south, Kenya to the south east and Ethiopia to the east.
