...and expect flat tyres overheating jeeps and not much more than 100km a day. camping is great here.
you You can get free rides! one big problem is make them understand that and understand them.Mongolia. just some hundrets hundreds of km paved road from ulan bator [[Ulan Bator]] (UB) in some directions an that s it. no roads, no signs. the trunk roads out of UB are paved and reasonably trafficked.
so be careful if you walk out of the cities, along the "roads" that you don t get lost. and take water with you.
you can get free rides! one big problem is make them understand that and understand them. form UB to zamyn yyd (china border) it is not too difficult. the "road" (half of the way down is paved) stays close to the transmongolian railway and gives you security not to die thirsty. i got a lift by the great defektoskop train.
the far west: bayan oelgi[[Bayan Oelgi]], is very hard to hitch. took me 2 weeks from the russian Russian border in bayan oelgi to UB. chinese Chinese visa is easy in UB, russian Russian is not so easy-like in any other place.
