Nice one. About the technique, I would always put my bag in a way that it looks as small as possible and also makes a clean impression. I am not sure if I would put it like this or if this actually has influence on pick up time or on what kind of people stop for you or if it actually has any influence at all... --Alex 21:03, 8 October 2007 (CEST) PS: I think many people like your 'swiveling' hips.. ;-)

When I'm on a longer trip, i always make my bag very visible, so that everyone identifies me as a backpacker, hoping that people are interested in what i'm doing. This always worked fine for me. Hard to tell if that's better or not --MrTweeksite, wikitalk 21:13, 8 October 2007 (CEST)
Yeah, visibility of the bag is important (not just on long trips), it helps people to categorize you faster and so there is more time over to actually think about stopping (or saying yes). My emphasis is that the bag looks as 'small as possible and also makes a clean [and tidy] impression'. The point you mentioned has clearly influence on your waiting time, I do not know if it is necessary to go even further... --Alex 12:01, 9 October 2007 (CEST)
